Sociotechlab: Research and Innovation in Social and Health Services for the Elderly. Meeting in Pisa dedicated to the project promoted by the CGIL pensioners' union and the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies

On 5 June, the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa will host an event dedicated to Sociotechlab, a project focused on research and innovation in social and health services for the elderly, promoted by the CGIL pensioners' union in collaboration with the university centre of excellence based in the Tuscan town.
The meeting will begin at 9.30 a.m. and will address the challenges and opportunities associated with residential care for the elderly. The highlight will be the presentation of the research entitled 'The dimensions of sustainability in residential care. Evidence comparison', edited by Milena Vainieri, scientific director of the MeS (Management and Sustainability) Laboratory at the Sant'Anna School, Davide Vicari, Giulia De Nicola, Laura Pelliccia and Marco Arlotti.
The proceedings will be opened by Eugenio Giani, President of the Tuscany Region. This will be followed by speeches from leading figures from the academic and trade union world, including Nicola Vitiello, Rector of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Stefano Landini, Organisational Secretary of Spi Cgil Nazionale, and Stefano Casini Benvenuti, coordinator of CTS Sociotechlab.
The programme includes a round table discussion with experts in the field: Stefano Cecconi, Secretary of Spi Cgil Nazionale, Isabella Conti, Councillor for Welfare of Emilia Romagna, Sabina Nuti, former Rector of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, and Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life. The debate will be moderated by Cesare Buquicchio, journalist at Il Sole 24 Ore - disalute.it. During the debate, a video interview with the President of the Mario Negri Institute, Silvio Garattini, conducted by Alessio Gaggioli, journalist at Corriere Fiorentino, will be screened.
The conclusions of the initiative, which will also be enriched by a contribution from actor Paolo Hendel with an interlude entitled “Youth is overrated”, will be presented by Tania Scacchetti, Secretary General of Spi Cgil Nazionale, who will summarise the topics discussed and the future prospects for the sector.
The meeting represents an important opportunity for discussion between institutions, research and the world of work, with the aim of promoting innovation and ensuring quality care for the elderly.
